I did, after my second. I was very unhappy in the job and working 4 days a week since my first. They wanted me back 5 days with a longer lunch so longer days which didn’t work with the Creche so they made the decision for me-I was so happy coz I think I would have ended up going back with the fear. I was lucky I had some savings but no qualifications (after 13 yrs working!) so did a part time course around babysitters/evenings and was lucky enough to get a job. I now make just enough to cover childcare so it’s tight but long term it’s ideal, my eldest started school and I collect him every day, in 2 years my second will also be in school, the baby in ECCE so hopefully we will have more money and I love working. It’s my daily escape and adult chats. Of course I miss the cash, getting my nails done, and nights in are more frequent than nights out but I’m so much happier.

Is there any option to go part time?

Hey, my 3 go to bed at 7.30. My youngest (1 yr 8mths) usually goes straight asleep but the other two can be chatting and messing but usually settle about 8. We were lucky my eldest was always a great sleeper and the other two fell into his routine. It’s keeping the youngest down that’s the problem. She goes through phases of Shanta to be up and in our bed during the night 🙈 And just wants the chats but screams bloody murder if we put her back in her own bed.
